Water Sports

Motebong Village's location on the banks of the Katse Dam make it an ideal location for water sports, the most preferred being Fishing. The dam is rich with Trout, Maluti minnow, Yellow fish and Barbel. There are numerous fishing areas in the areas. These include various areas places on the premises along the Katse dam.

Other spots include the area around the Matsoku adit along the Matsoku river, the area near the Malibamatso bridge on the banks of the dam, and up-stream from Ha Lejone along the Malibamatso river.

The fishing here is ideal for both novices and for the experienced, and a catch is assured, given the abundance of fish in the dam. 

The dam and surrounding rivers are also ideal for other sports such as boating, canoeing and windsurfing. It is very deep and extreme care must however be taken.
