Pony Trekking

An arrangement has been reached with Ha Lejone Village, whereby the well-known Basotho ponies are provided by the village and all payments are made directly to the owners of these. Guests are then able to take rides of varying distances on the iconic Ponies, either to the Village of Ha Lejone or into the surrounding highlands.

 Even first time riders get comfortable with the Basotho ponies fairly quickly!

Motebong Village has recommended minimum rates for the use of these with tips permitted should guests feel inclined to do so. All pony trekking is done with guides experienced in the handling of the ponies and horses and knowledge of the terrain.

Guests are requested to advice Motebong a day before they would like to go on Pony rides, so that sufficient notice is given to the Association to bring the ponies to the village.
