History Of Motebong Village

Motebong village was originally built to serve as accommodation for the engineering staff engaged on the Lesotho Highlands Water Project’s Katse Dam construction.

With the project complete, the village was then let out briefly to one of Lesotho’s Diamond mining companies. It was then leased for Tourism accommodation purposes, by the Government of Lesotho (Ministry of Tourism, Environment & Culture) to Motebong Tourism Investment Holdings (Pty) Ltd.
